The kit is designed for households that want more insight into their water consumption and want to save water more smartly. Thanks to its broad compatibility with many European water meters, installation is quick and easy in most situations.
Power via USB-C:
The WaterMeterKit V3 is powered via USB-C. For the best and most stable operation, we recommend our USB-C Adapter Set with 3-meter cable. This is perfectly suited for this product and can be easily ordered as an option.
Prepared for Thread/OpenThread:
Thanks to the updated hardware, the WaterMeterKit V3 is prepared for modern wireless applications such as Thread/OpenThread. The standard installation remains via WiFi.
Tip: measure water and energy or prefer Ethernet/PoE?
Do you want to read your energy consumption via the P1 port in addition to water consumption, or do you want to use a wired Ethernet connection with PoE? Then choose the WaterP1MeterKit V4. It combines water and energy measurement with WiFi, Ethernet, and PoE.

Our universal holder fits most European analog water meters. Below you'll find the most common types per brand.
Our sensor detects the metal rotating disc in analog water meters. This small metal disc (often silver-colored) rotates when water flows through. The sensor registers each rotation via magnetic detection = 1 liter of water. ⚠️ No rotating metal part? Then our sensor won't work.

Yes. The updated hardware is prepared for Thread/OpenThread. For normal use, WiFi remains the standard and recommended installation. Only use Thread/OpenThread when you have matching firmware, a Thread border router and Home Assistant configuration.
No. Thread uses the same 2.4 GHz radio technology as Zigbee, but it is a different protocol. You do not pair the WaterMeterKit V3 as a Zigbee device.
