Home Assistant integration

Please note: the SmartHomeShop integration for Home Assistant is still in development. Features and available entities may change.

Your products, native in Home Assistant

Our official integration recognises your products automatically and adds smart features. Think leak detection, a room quality score for your indoor climate, and the Room Designer that lets you draw mmWave zones on a floor plan. Everything runs locally, without any cloud.

How it works

Add it, pick your product, done.

Your products already run ESPHome, so they work in Home Assistant right away. The integration adds the SmartHomeShop layer on top, with automatic recognition per product, extra smart entities, and a dedicated configuration panel.

  • Automatic recognition. The integration detects which SmartHomeShop products are in your Home Assistant and suggests the right one. You never have to pick entities by hand.

  • Smart leak detection. Continuous flow monitoring, night usage, and a self-learning pattern that recognises shower, toilet, washing machine, and dishwasher.

  • Room quality score for your indoor climate. CO₂, particulate matter, VOC, temperature, and humidity combined into a single score from 1 to 10, with concrete tips such as ventilate now.

  • Everything stays local. No cloud account needed. The integration talks directly to your products via ESPHome, inside your own network.

Room Designer

Draw your room. Place your sensors. See who is where.

Configuring mmWave zones with raw numbers is a thing of the past. In the SmartHomeShop panel you draw your room with walls, doors, windows, and furniture, drag your sensors to their real position, and simply draw zones on the floor plan. One push of a button and everything is on your sensors.

The exact same 3D engine as in the panel and the Lovelace card

Floor plan in 2D and 3D

Draw walls to size with live measurements, add doors, windows, and furniture, and view your room in a rotatable 3D view.

Multiple sensors per room

Large or L-shaped space? Place multiple mmWave sensors in a single room and see their coverage with range and angle guides. Blind spots show up immediately.

Polygon zones, not boxes

Detection zones follow the shape of your sofa or desk instead of a rough rectangle. Exclusion zones ignore your curtains or that moving plant.

Entry lines and people counting

Draw a line in the doorway and the sensor counts who walks in and out. Home Assistant then knows how many people are really in the room, even when someone sits perfectly still.

Live tracking with trails

Watch up to three people per sensor move across your floor plan live, with a trail of where they walked. Ideal for getting your zones right the first time.

Pushed to your sensor in one click

Zones and entry lines go straight to your sensors' firmware. Detection then runs on the sensor itself, fast and reliable, even while Home Assistant restarts.

Dashboard cards

Cards that complete your dashboard

The integration ships with ready-made Lovelace cards for every product. The UltimateSensor card shows your drawn room with live tracking in 2D or the same 3D view as the panel, with people walking through your room as figures. The water and energy cards show usage, meter reading, and leak status at a glance.

  • Room view in 2D or 3D. Choose the default view per card. Switching is always one tap away.

  • Fully configurable in the visual editor. Toggle sections, pick sensors, set the view, no YAML required.

  • For all your products. WaterMeterKit, WaterP1MeterKit, and WaterFlowKit get their own card too, with usage, history, and leak status.

Installation

Up and running in four steps

1

Product in Home Assistant

Your SmartHomeShop product is added via the standard ESPHome integration. This happens almost automatically once it is on your network.

2

Install the integration

Install the integration through HACS or place it in your custom_components folder. Then restart Home Assistant.

3

Pick your product

Add SmartHomeShop.io via Settings, Integrations. Pick your product and the integration finds it automatically.

4

Set up your room

Open the SmartHomeShop panel, draw your room in the Room Designer, and push your zones to the sensor. Done.

Polygon zones, entry lines, and people counting require the latest firmware on your sensor. Rectangular zones work on all firmware versions.
